Martin started with the following challenge: to use existing internet and graphics technology to create an interactive 3D web environment that could serve as a platform for marketing, networking and entertainment applications. This virtual reality platform would be an alternative to conventional home pages, transforming a user's interaction with the internet while giving advertisers new opportunities to strengthen their brand. Martin calls his unique new 3D media tool a 'datamentary'. A datamentary creates a three-dimensional spatial relationship between information found on the computer screen, allowing users to understand and absorb it more quickly. Using a datamentary environment, clients can give users a complex physical and conceptual picture of their brand and their products. Because of the spatial environment presented by a 3D site, consumers will spend more time surfing, gathering information and interacting with the clients' products.
Combining existing Flash technology with video game graphics, a datamentary site is constantly changing, drawing consumers back for repeated use. Martin's 3D datamentaries appeal to a broad audience. They are fun for younger users and can provide more accessible, comprehensive information for adults. The virtual worlds are self-learning, self-service, constantly evolving, personalized, concise and efficient. They are accessible through any computer. The possibilities offered by virtual spaces have opened a new creative field for marketing managers, designers and webmasters.
"Immediacy" is the best word to illustrate the easy access to data in a Instant Level 3-D website. Compared to video and 2-D websites, Instant Level datamentaries give consumers a new feeling of living the experience. The user becomes more involved, and actually helps improve the service. He or she is guided during product research and purchase, with suggestions based on previous navigation and transactions. The person who uses a website created by Instant Level can manage their research in the 3-D space from a database of HTML content, with a questionnaire, or tags chosen in a list. Unlike traditional website tools, the navigation in a 3-D environment lets the user be guided through a virtual store, and to walk freely in a large virtual space rather than being confined between the corners of an HTML page. The next Web generation, 3.0 or "the semantic Web," is already being developed and Instant Level is at the forefront of using these groundbreaking technologies in media deployments, as well.
With the depth of 3-D, the number of objects presented in an environment can expand by 500%. The navigation system allows for maximum use of onscreen real estate. A built-in zoom feature makes high-detail visibility simple and intuitive. Clients can easily add sponsors to any project. Advertising can be harmoniously added to the 3-D decor of the virtual world or situated in the 2-D space along the side of the web page. The number of advertisements on a page can vary depending on the type of subscription that a user has chosen. Clients receive powerful program tools to track the number of times an ad has been seen by each visitor.
Instant Level 3-D datamentaries appeal to a broad audience. They are fun for younger audiences and can provide more accessible, comprehensive information for adults. Our virtual worlds are self-learning, self-service, constantly evolving, personalized, concise and efficient. They are accessible through any computer.
Instant Level is concerned with the physical context of a project and sensitive to the culture and tone of the content. We have applied the same priorities to our projects' communication strategies- in our "website of the future," internal communication tools, external media research, image database consulting, museum installations, trend studies, 3-D graphic design and photo-reporting. The physical performance of our 3-D media management solutions achieves our quest for quality.
